A WEBSITE WITH JEWELLERY "TO SIGH FOR" - WWW.MHSPECTOR.CO.UK

Peruvians like sighing. They have songs and poems written using the expression, and have named bridges and even a dessert after it. Peruvian jewellery designer and maker Maria Helena Spector has just launched her new website which clearly demonstrates her ability to create jewellery pieces that clients will "sigh for".

Maria wants people to sigh when they see the amazing colours that nature has to offer when it comes to gemstones, at the shapes you can create, the textures you can feel when they are hand finished, and the enhancement of their forms when combined with precious metals. She commented "I hope you can get a little feeling for this when you look at my new website and maybe get some inspiration to see my work live". The website features over 50 representative images of her work with detailed descriptions of their composition.

Maria founded her jewellery design business three years ago and has developed a retail presence at London markets, a wholesale presence in galleries and retail outlets, and exhibits at selected national craft shows. In the last year, Maria has developed her work with British Museums and been privileged enough to have developed relationships with some of the best lapidaries in Peru. Working together with them, she select the best stones from the best mines and after having them roughly cut, hand finishes them at her studio in London.
